Cid gets an honorable mention, since how cool is it that Cid is a character you can play? And He gets his air time.

This ladies man seems to always find himself in my parties. whether it be from storyline, or in boss battles like the tentacles, or the final boss where you can hit them all with auto-crossbow. He couldn't match up to heavyweights like cyan or terra, but he had guts. He couldn't do magic in my game, since it was the hard type version and terra and celes only had magic (and gogo) but it was useful to get through the end boss.

Luneth, the friend of Arc. The one that saves his friend. the guy with the task of thieving from every boss in the game. and then the moment when you steal from bosses that are important. Thank you luneth for being my number one.

From the time that he is introduced, tot he end of the world, bartz holds the party together. this game doesn't have the same iconicness as the others, since you only control 4 characters (5?) but the enjoyment was in job classing the characters. you found out about his story, his father, the connection with galuf, the legendary weapons, all with bartz at the helm. it is memorable.

To be fair, i have played ff7 more than the others, and cloud is the focus of the entire game. I loved being able to slash through monsters. A particular highlight of the game was loading up cloud with the best materia at the coliseum and then getting omnislash. and then having tifa do the same thing, only faster and without the hassles. i wonder how that happened...

My first time playing ff7 she was always in my party. it was shocking to see her pass away. I didn't totally get the story that she had though. anyway.. it was like she left before her time. It was stunning to see such a raw experience happen in a video game. She was kidnapped, experimented on, given the short end of the stick. But she became the reason I continued playing the game. it was like she was with the party on the airship, and in our hearts.

Even though he doesn't have the best limit at the end of the game, he somehow found himself into my parties usually. I'm playing through it again and his weapons and techs just compliment what im looking for. He also was in my aeris party when she died.

When you get cyan, he is a one hitter. he even can combo with celes against kefka for powerful dmg. you don't need a third member. Cyan was also assured to be in my end game party. Him terra, edgar and celes made for the best party at the end of the game. He also had a steiner thing going for him. He had the best end of game story section with a bunch of nightmares, soul destroyers and game winner techs for him to try out on unsuspecting enemies.

This game was so enjoyable, and each part of it great, and most of the time you were having this dude right in the centre of it (chocobo forest? burmecia? wind tree?) with garnet as she found her summons, and ending the game with colossal dmg if you used him. This is why i couldn't keep him out of my end game party.
