By then all the evidence was nonexistent and it was their words against his. Testimonies without hard evidence to back them up are next to useless. Granted, now we're outraged that no one listened to the victims, but when a person spends his/her whole life (and in some reported cases dies) in prison because of some false testimonies and loose evidence, what then? The thing I find most puzzling here is the fact that he admitted this in 2005 and had the ability to actually settle and get off the judicial hook. This is something I have seen before in the American judicial system and I can't believe that's at all allowed for criminal offences. Anyone care to explain it to me?
