I'm convinced love is a superpower. Maybe all those cartoons and Disney movies were onto something. It makes you feel like you can take on the world, makes you want to better yourself, makes you realise things about yourself you never expected. It is both a destination and a journey. Everything makes sense and life is clear.

It's good shit, but probably not for everyone and a bit like chocolate, too much of it will probably make you fat.

I was waiting for a bus today (car is dead).
While scrolling through my Twitter feed, someone approaches me and starts up a conversation. He apologizes if he disturbed me, but I'm alright with it, conversation's swell.
He soon asks me my sexual orientation, and I answer honestly, that I'm currently still sexually immature and can't get off to anything (not quite that phrasing).
He then asks who I'm voting for, seems just fine with Jill Stein. He also asked if I'm okay with LGBTQ people.
He shares that he's pursuing a culinary and acting career. He also watches MasterChef.
He expresses that he'd like to dance with someone at a bar, and eventually directly states that he's gay.
He tells me I can ask him anything I'd like--to kiss, snuggle, to rest my head on his shoulder, anything. He tells me he'd never hurt me. He repeats that one a lot.
He tells me of all the people he's met, I'm the one he's most likely to date. I was also invited to a party on October 29th.
He's 23, lives with his parents (or at least his dad), and even though he has his license, said his dad could drive him to see a movie with me.
He shared two stories of getting bullied for being gay, and then successfully suing the bullies. He said he doesn't get angry, but he'd do anything to protect his loved ones, and that he'd take a bullet for me.

He (all these goddamned lines start with HE) also said that lots of people think he's crazy and weird. Throughout all this I'm acting like he's perfectly normal and that I'm not worried he might rape me.
He asks for my number, I tell him I haven't renewed my service, and that I'm about to switch. Well, that's true, but I still have numbers I could've given him.

One of the creepiest bits for me is his repeating that he'd never hurt me, and that he wants to protect me. When Justin Payne (YouTuber) speaks to pedophiles as his young "Christopher" persona, it's what they all repeat.
But ya know, I'm flattered all the same.

One time in the sixth grade, a girl gave me her phone number. It wasn't until I was in high school that it clicked--"oh, she wanted me to call her!"
