Editing … It's a good site for keeping in touch with friends/seeing what they're up to through their statuses/pictures. If you just want to browse it for the public groups/pages just make an account with no personal information, no pictures, high privacy settings and no friends.

Editing … I once had a fake account... until Facebook decided to lock it because I signed in from two different locations. Never again!

Editing … I've logged into Facebook from around a dozen different countries and never had a problem. They even emailed me to check it was me.

Editing … You signed in from two different locations at once? How did you manage that? Or is it just that you were moving around because in that case I'm confused. Pretty sure I've had facebook up on my phone in a fair few countries over the years.

Editing … I logged in at home. A few days later I went to a training course in Berlin and logged in from there and then Facebook was all like "oh noez some1 tries 2 hack ur accunt pls verify ur bithdate" and since I just picked random numbers as my birthdate and didn't remember it, I couldn't verify my account and it's locked since then.

Editing … I'm logged into Facebook on my pc and phone all the time too, so it can't be two different devices. I just leave my PC on most of the time and my phone is permanently logged in.

Editing … Only time I've ever had to verify my account was when my mates got hold of my phone and changed my facebook details to make me a lesbian 111 year old Scottish nationalist (subtlety's not their thing), wouldn't let me change it back until I answered a verification email. My mates never had to prove they were me but I did.

Editing … I don't bother clicking facebook links. and not because I "boycott" it like with kotaku, but because faecbook makes no fudging sense and I know I'll just be redirected or the page is restricted to friends only or I'll get asked to choose which of my mom's sub-accounts to log in as, or the link is some three thousand character url that someone carelessly copy and pasted without realizing it won't work if other people click on it, or some other facebook-specific nonsense. so I'm not even going to bother. I'll stick to websites that are like, normal and stuff.
