By now we all know everyone and their gran's 2015 game of the year lists, but as I know most people on here like to dabble in some older games, I am curious as to what are your top games you PLAYED IN 2015. By this I mean games that you played for the first time in 2015, but that weren't released that year. I thought it would make for an interesting change of pace :)

    My top 10 would be:

Spoiler- Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (Fantastic story, great twists and fun characters)

    - Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (Funny dialogue, likeable characters, enjoyable 'whodunnit' storyline)

    - Danganronopa: Trigger Happy Havoc (See above.... also good music :))

    - 999: Nne Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (Engaging plot, multiple routes, interesting philosophical quandries)

    - The Unfinished Swan (Artful, charming world, enjoyable narration, sense of wonderment)

    - Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (Classic MGS "play how you want" gameplay brought into the modern age :))

    - Transistor ( Excellent artstlye, superb soundtrack and a fun, interesting battle mechanic)

    - Evoland (Fun tribute to Rpg history, multiple gameplay types, charming array of art styles)

    - Everlasting Summer (Fun engaging characters, interesting setting, easily replayable, multiple paths)

    - Never Alone (Informative, charming, nice animation)

Editing … #1 would have to be #Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, following by KH Birth by Sleep, and... Watch_Dogs! I'm alone on that last one.

Editing … I can't do a top 10 like you because I don't think I've played ten games I've never played before :P But I really liked Max Payne 3, I enjoyed Alien Isolation, Bully and Sins of a Solar Empire. There might very well be more, but can't think of them right now.

Editing … I liked all the activities in the open world, and I just LOVE the online invasions! I also really enjoyed the dense city, and the tight driving controls (on kb/m, at least). Trains were fun too :p

Editing … @Silent Gamer Sins of a Solar Empire is definitely not a must play. It's a "if you like these kinda games, you have to play it after you are done with your favorites". It's a really great game, but still.

Editing … I think I played four games that were new to me but weren't new last year. #1) #Dark Souls II (almost as good as the first Dark Souls so a great game) #2) #Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor (I was only a few hours into it before New Year and haven't played it much since but liking it so far) #3) #Transistor (not as good as Bastion but I still really liked the art and the soundtrack) #4) #Trials Fusion (not nearly as good as Trials Evolution but still a good game)

I've heard pretty mixed things about it. @Sandy Vich: What are you most looking forward to on your PS4? @Free Fall: Rent-a-Hero looks mighty interesting. How was the humour? @Sha Ember: I have a soft spot for ACII and Ezio, but I can tell it has issues. What version of FFIV did you play? @richardpale: Are you excited about Dark Souls III? :)

Editing … I am because it'll probably be really good but at the same time I probably won't rush to buy it at launch because it's not that long since I played Dark Souls II and Bloodborne near enough back to back so I'm okay with a break from that style of game to mix things up.

Editing … @Silent Gamer Pier Solar is really really good, up to where I played, which is about 2 or 3 hours. It's possible that it just shits itself off in a bad direction but it has a great base. Starts off a bit slow but once you find the blonde brat it's about 3 kids and a robot solving ancient mysteries. The PS4 version has a bunch of options, I think it looks and sounds better with the 16-bit and Genesis-Megadrive audio. The portraits especially are more fun on 16-bit mode, the game defaults to HD so maybe that affected people's perceptions. The music is so good too, Genesis had really good bass, that's why I love the older audio option.
