Just spent all afternoon prepping the back 40. Cleared the brush, rototilled the soil, then added 12 wheelbarrows of compost, and then rototilled again to get a nice mix. Not quite time for planting yet but it feels good to get ahead of the game.

Editing … Yeas! Gardening! I didn't know you did gardening. I really like gardening it gives you a different perspective on time. Plants wait for no one. You have to be more aware of the seasons and weather than you normally would. Are you planting decorative plants or vegetables?

Editing … btw for anyone interested in wild native plants this guy has a great channel ("Crime Pays But Botany Doesn't"). He is a rough shady guy who speaks his mind out loud and is very entertaining to watch. You would never expect a guy like that to be into plants but he is borderline obsessed and very knowledgeable about plants. I like his views on nature and he stealth plants native plants everywhere he goes. He is probably responsible for a whole forest by now. : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlSBkTFEcL4

Editing … A vegetable garden with cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, corn, carrots, and lettuce. And I also have a small flower box that had begonias in it last year but I'll probably pick something cheaper this year.

Editing … Sounds like an amazing vegetable garden plan. I never thought of growing beans but then again maybe I can’t here. I have potatoes mostly because the snails eat everything else. Zucchini and pumpkins are fine too though the snails like to eat those as well but they grow so fast the snails can’t eat it all and after a while the pumpkin and zucchini get prickly hairs to protect them. Peas are fine too I think because the snails find them difficult to climb. I should collect the snails someday but I am too lazy now.

Editing … Fortunately we don't have any snail problems around here. You should try the string beans. They always grow plentiful for us with little maintenance and there's nothing like going out there before lunch to pick a handful and pop them in a frying pan with some olive oil salt and pepper and voila delicious.

Editing … @ nod you thought he was an old man like you? :-P He's also a year younger than me so he also might be lucky he isn't 30 yet (depending on his birthday). Then he can still call himself a "20 something" for a few months. I see 30 as a good age though. it's the age where you can say " I ain't gonna take no shit no more. I'm too old for that. You can all go suck a fuck". Nod you can teach us you have 10 + years of experience of not giving a suck fuck.

Editing … The older you get the better you become at life. I didn't grow up until I was about 26 or 27, I wasn't so good at it. Now I'm indestructible, whatever life throws at me I'll just deal with it no worries. I haven't noticed a decline with my body yet really either, yeah I sprint in slow motion now and sparring I've lost those super fast reactions, but 43 is good, I feel like an experienced 30 year old not a 40 something. Getting older in your 20s and 30s is nothing to worry about.

Editing … 30 in August, I had my early 20s in a drunken stupor roaming around Philly. They were fun, but I'm ready to move on from that. Other old people things I do : go to the movies during the day for cheaper prices and less crowds, play board games with friends at the park, find and collect old bottles, film photography, thrifting

Editing … Hehehe old people hobbies. I like it. I think simple life is good life. Thrifting is great. I grew up thrifting because we were poor but I was ashamed of it then. But now it's just so much fun to find old things. I see a lot of old people there too of course. Usually they don't buy anything but just talk to each other. The thrift store is their hangout. A way of life.
