"Cage said the allegations were "ridiculous, absurd and grotesque".

"You want to talk about homophobia?" he said. "I work with Ellen Page, who fights for LGBT rights. You want to talk about racism? I work with Jesse Williams, who fights for civil rights in the USA... Judge me by my work.""

Garçon, that has to be the most weak sauce defense I've heard since "I'm not racist, I let a black guy use my toilet!"

Editing … I feel like he's probably not a racist or a homophobe. He's probably just an overall douche with a bad sense of humor from what they said in the article. The things mentioned are definitely not appropriate for a work environment though.

Editing … Well not all douches are bigots, but all bigots are douches. Still, this is relatively low-key stuff that one runs across a lot in life, but yes, makes for a totally inappropriate workplace. I'm mostly just amused at his clueless response. "You think I'm intolerant?! Well let me tell you, I don't turn down the opportunity to work with celebrities, even if they speak up on behalf of teh blacks and teh gays! That's the kind of hero I am!"

Editing … Also I almost doubled over with laughter at the comment that responded to Cage saying "Judge me by my work," by saying "He probably shouldn't have said that. Now he will get the death penalty."
