I will never, ever grow tired of Jim Sterling dragging David Cage. It's been a few years, but oh how I've missed it. Yes Sterdust, you clothesline that French buffoon, give him a verbal chokeslam!

"Cage said the allegations were "ridiculous, absurd and grotesque".

"You want to talk about homophobia?" he said. "I work with Ellen Page, who fights for LGBT rights. You want to talk about racism? I work with Jesse Williams, who fights for civil rights in the USA... Judge me by my work.""

Garçon, that has to be the most weak sauce defense I've heard since "I'm not racist, I let a black guy use my toilet!"

Still, this is relatively low-key stuff that one runs across a lot in life, but yes, makes for a totally inappropriate workplace. I'm mostly just amused at his clueless response. "You think I'm intolerant?! Well let me tell you, I don't turn down the opportunity to work with celebrities, even if they speak up on behalf of teh blacks and teh gays! That's the kind of hero I am!"

"Technology is a tool, and should never be more than that. It's the pen to write the book. Sometimes a great pen makes the writing easier, but it won't write for you."

"There are games that stay with you for years. Just like the books or films you love, they become a part of you. I'm fascinated by the potential for this because games take you to a different place. The player isn't just a spectator, they're the actor of the experience.

"With interactive stories, they're even the writer. The level of immersion is different because they make the decisions, see the consequences and it becomes their story. It's crazy to see how personal it becomes."

“See, our industry has defined interactivity as performing physical actions, like shooting or jumping. So, for many people my games are not real video games because they don’t fit into this restrictive idea of interactivity.

At the moment, we use video games as a toy, but they have the potential to be meaningful.

Games focus on simple themes and target a teenage audience.”

Editing … No David, I don't think your games "aren't real". However, I think your games suck because you seem to make a movie and then add interactivity as an afterthought. Not to mention that these movies that you originally create are narratively incoherent and almost entirely uninspired. I too enjoy games that give a "deep" experience as well as ones that give "pure fun", but you'll never create a game that can touch the emotional depth of Journey, or the philosophical depth of Planescape: Torment, because you're a shallow man obsessed with proving your self-worth by focusing on the superficial. #rant

„To me, story and emotion are very important. I always felt that when you watch a film, what you love isn’t so much what you see, it’s what you feel.

For me it’s the same thing in a game. When you play a game it shouldn’t matter so much which button you are supposed to press, it should be about what the game makes you feel.”

"The founder of Quantic Dream is going to receive Legion d'Honneur in March.
This is a first in the world of the French video game industry.

The 'eminent merits' required to be awarded the order require the flawless performance of one's trade as well as doing more than ordinarily expected,
such as being creative and contributing to the growth of others." - lefigaro.fr

I'd agree with msg that this sort of honour should be reserved for military personnel, but if it was going to be given to artists then Eric Chahi and Michel Ancel deserve this infinitely more than Cage ever would.
