Here's two ways you can make sure I will not watch your LP:

    1. You're playing a 2D game on an emulator with sprite smoothing turned on. Seriously, I don't understand how people my age that grew up with the SNES actually think that's a good idea. It looks terrible.

    2. You start each of your 15-minute parts with a 1-minute long intro because you fancy yourself some big-shot video producer. If I have to skip through something each time a new part comes up, no thank you.

Editing … One for me is if they prioritize their interaction with the audience. The reason I watch let's players is to see their interaction with the game.

Editing … With your Jontron obsession, I would have at least thought you'd have liked early Grumps, Crashy.

Editing … I like his solo vids okay, but I prefer videos that focus less on the comedy and more on the opinions, like Digibro and TheMysteriousMrEnter. My favorite Jontron vid is that one about Blizzard because it's focused on getting out a thought with some bits of humor thrown in as the cherry on top. As for lets plays, I really like early Best Friends and Arin/Dan Grumps.

Editing … He has sort of a random, Youtube Poop style of humor that isn't my favorite. When I laugh at his videos, it's usually more because of the crazy content he's playing, like those horrifying Frozen games, or that Pokemon ripoff that calls the Professor Elf Monster, or that bizarre talking cat movie.

Editing … Yeah, I'm right there with you, Retro. A lot of my fav LP'ers have since transitioned into Twitch streaming, so now whenever they do upload archives to YouTube, I have to deal with them constantly interacting with the audience, and that terrible chat window that they've embedded into the video. Those videos aren't fun to me. I'm not big on sitting in on those streams to begin with, but they're even more horrible when you're watching them after the fact. It's weird that in the age of on-demand video and entire seasons getting released in one go on Netflix, we're also going backwards with live streaming. I like content that stands on its own and is timeless. My favorite LP'ers are the ones that have a good sense of humor, but also know their shit. They're knowledgable, skilled, and just have a lot of love and passion for the games that they're playing. So naturally none of the LP'ers I'm subscribed to fall into "mainstream" category.
