There are definitely classic examples in the Metroidvania genre, but I think this just might be the best example that I've played. If you don't game on PC, this is one of the best reasons to own an XB1. The sequel is a day one purchase for me.

Editing … Amazing how every XB1 game I've ever wanted keeps coming to PC (or being cancelled)

Editing … Yeah, if you're a PC gamer there really aren't many reasons to own an XB1. I was interested in some of the console exclusives, and many of my 360 online friends went with the XB1. Even then, it took someone to offer the system to me for $100 for me to finally budge on getting one. I've been having fun with it though, although the Scalebound cancellation was a definite bummer. On the other hand, Ori was a fantastic surprise that I wasn't counting on.

Editing … I would've bought an Xbone just for Quantum Break. But then it was ported to Windows 10. ... and then the Steam version was released, and it turned out that the Windows DirectX11 version was the original version, and the DX12/Xbox versions were the ports, meaning that Remedy's game was always meant for PC.

My gf is so hyped for this game that she's
    1) changed her phone wallpaper to a beautiful pic of Ori
    2) constantly listens to the game's OST
    3) watches my Let's Play of it

After we return from Budapest next week she'll probably find the time to start her own playthrough of Ori and the Blind Forest, but you can tell that she already loves everything about this game :)
I'm going to connect her laptop via a HDMI cable to my TV and plug a white Xbox One controller into her laptop's USB port to emulate the home console experience she's used to.

Am I doing something seriously wrong or is this game fucking frustrating as hell (I'm playing on "easy" difficulty, btw)? Touching spikes knocks off 3 health points so I'm dead after touching them twice. They are placed so shitty that you have to make pixel-perfect wall jumps. Oh, and there are also pits with spikes that will kill you instantly. I've already lost progress up to 20 minutes due to that poor level design. I'm at 1.9 hours and on the verge of refunding it because I'm not really having fun with it so far.

Great, I had to alter the way this game launches by setting different settings in the game's .exe file because it wouldn't let me choose any resolution higher than 720p (even though I'm on a 1080p TV). Disabling "dpi display scaling" fixed the issue.

I'm so going to start another play-through of Ori thanks to this little addition:

"In the original version of the game, dying at any point during the [Ginso Tree] escape will force players to start from the section anew. The Easy mode in the Definitive Addition adds in extra checkpoints to make the section simpler to beat."
