Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a 2007 first-person shooter video game, developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii. A handheld game was made for the Nintendo DS. The game was released in North America, Australia, and Europe in November 2007 for video game consoles and Microsoft Windows. It was released for the Mac in September 2008, then released for the Wii in November 2009, given the subtitle Reflex Edition. It is the fourth installment in the Call of Duty video game series, excluding expansion packs, and is the first in the Modern Warfare line of the franchise, followed by a direct sequel, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 as well as the first game in the series to have a Mature rating. The game breaks away from the World War II setting of previous games in the series and is instead set in modern times. Developed for over two years, the game uses a proprietary game engine. Saved!I just watched somebody play the new MW on Youtube, it looks really good.
-
Saved!I played the tutorial level on the PS4 since it's on Plus (do have in mind I've finished this game on the PC) and it was HARD to finish.
How do you people even play shooters on this thing? You fucking maniacs!!-
Saved!LizardTaroEditing … Cock of Duty 4: Modern Gayfuck
-
Saved!WoodrowShigeruEditing … Years of practice. My first console shooter might have been GoldenEye, and that game's 22 yrs old.
-
Saved!MasterCrashEditing … Maniacs!
-
Saved!WoodrowShigeruEditing … You clearly haven't seen true mania: https://youtu.be/aD9D6NbEvJI
-
Saved!WoodrowShigeruEditing … And https://youtu.be/ZALguWuFSnQ
-
Saved!HelendlocEditing … I don't get how you play shooters on PC, have to either slam the mouse like crazy just to turn more than 90 degrees or ramp the mouse sensitivity up to ridiculous levels
-
Saved!WoodrowShigeruEditing … It's a matter of tweaking the sensitivity. And then again: practice (or getting used to it). Some games also let you keep turning if you raise the mouse above the surface. — But I found mouse+keyboard to be the most precise and comfortable setup for games where you have to point and click a lot. Like adventure games or shooters.
-
Saved!MasterCrashEditing … Just up the sensitivety, yeah. Which you can't on a fucking controller, it took me a good 30 seconds to be able to point at a cardboard enemy because I touched the analogue and it just went bonkers on me. Mouse is far far more responsive.
-
Saved!MasterCrashEditing … That said, I had no problems with Fallout 4, but VATS helps a lot in there.
-
Saved!SandvichEditing … "Which you can't on a fucking controller" LOL, wut?

Explojin wrote his opinion about Call of Duty 4: Modern WarfareSaved!Got that Platinum! Used guides for quite a bit but it is a damn fun game.
-
Saved! After attempting for 4 hours to do Mile High Club on Veteran I just gave up and used the cheat. I'll probably get the platinum. Just need to get some trophies done which all should be pretty easy if I do them on recruit.
-
Saved!I started playing the remaster around 2 pm today and have now just put down the controller at just about 10 pm. Forgot how satisfying the campaign was. Slowly working through it on Veteran mode, damned if some parts are just annoying as hell but you eventually work your way through it. I felt like the beginning had me engaged but now I'm losing interest about 3/4 of the way through. Might be just cause I have to replay each mission a billion times to complete them... so I'm probably royally screwing the pacing. It will be interesting to try out the multiplayer again once I complete the campaign.
-
Saved!SandvichEditing … I've played about halfway through on Veteran. It holds up pretty well considering I can name several shooters that have come out afterwards and have aged like a bunch of bananas. The game is easier than I remember. I don't know what to chalk that up to. I didn't think my FPS skills improved that much, and there's no way my reflexes are sharper than they were 10+ years ago. I played the original on PC and am now playing on PS4, but I would think that would make things harder, not easier. And I'm not even sure I played it on Veteran originally.
-
Saved!SandvichEditing … That fuckin' storage requirement tho. OG Modern Warfare took up 8 GB. The Remaster takes up almost ten times that! It looks good, but it's not THAT huge an improvement.
-
Saved!ExplojinEditing … I'm having a hell of a time with the mission in Chernobyl. That last little sequence where you have to get Macmillan to the chopper. No joke, played it for 3 hours and still can't get him to the choppa. At this point I don't even think the Veteran mode is based on skill or reflexes... just luck in how the AI decided to run in. Sometimes they're spamming the grenades and flashbangs. Sometimes there are dogs... it's just a crapshoot and I can't get a good strategy in place.
-
Saved!ExplojinEditing … I think the storage requirement is fine if you're talking the full game download vs the disc based download. I think around that time a Bluray was 60 gb so the 73ish gb download makes sense for the whole game. Although I get it, all these free game downloads are killer on the hard drive. I'm currently in the process of clearing out a 2TB external HD to use as a dedicated PS4 extension.
-
Saved!ExplojinEditing … Heyo! Took me a whole day of on off playing of that mission "One Shot, One Kill" but I finally beat it. Go figure it was on a halfhearted playthrough from on the floor across the room. Just luck I'm telling ya. Do we have a list for least favorite missions?
-
Saved!NodleyEditing … The hardest one is where you go up the hill to the farm then have to go back down again to the choppa. Going up the hill take out the heli's, then at the barn get sniper rifle and take out the guys to the right through a window. Go right and just keep running. Use smoke grenades to cover you across the open field.
-
Saved!ExplojinEditing … I think I have only a couple missions left. It's just a lot of playing them over and over trying different scenarios.
-
Saved!ExplojinEditing … I got through that barn one yesterday. Used a bunch of air strikes and sprinting into structures.
-
-
Saved! The remastered version is free this month if you have PS Plus. I don't like the newer games but COD4 is awesome. @Nodley funny that we were talking about this a week ago.
-
Saved!ExplojinEditing … I hate but love that we're now entering the stage in the PS4 where free PS+ games are full games. I have no space on my hard drive for any of these games anymore.
-
-
Saved!I hate that feeling when I climb a hill to slow down an army, but then I have to climb back down just to get back to the helicopter transport.
Excuse me, I meant to say "Get to the choppah!" -
Saved!I love my main character's nickname. "If you wipe your ass, you'd best use soap."
-
Saved!DJ_JJSliderEditing … I would say (spoiler alert), but I think everyone's spread that scene to the point where its stopped being a spoiler. Lol. It's almost as anticlimactic as saying, "Oh by the way, AERIS DIES." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eY1Rf9XISQ

Nodley wrote his opinion about Call of Duty 4: Modern WarfareSaved! The original didn't have the best controls, it felt dated after playing the later games, they had refined the controls. However it had some of the best levels in the series, and my original score was 9.5. Now I've played the remastered game and the controls are sweet, this remastered game is the dogs bollocks.
-
John Pratt wrote his opinion about Call of Duty 4: Modern WarfareSaved!Solid shooter, through and through. Easily the best Call of Duty game ever made. The series was just downhill from here (yes, I am including MW2, that game isn't as good)
