Did you know there are only five feature-length films shot at a high framerate? Three Hobbit films, and Ang Lee's latest two films, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk and Gemini Man. The Hobbit was shot at 48fps, but Ang Lee's taken to shooting at 120fps! The Hobbit hasn't seen a HFR (high framerate) release on any home media though. Ang Lee's have, and they can be seen at 60fps on 4K BluRay.
Andy Serkis is probably going to shoot Animal Farm at 48fps. Hopefully we see this done a bit more often. Gemini Man's action scenes are fucking superb at 60fps.

Did you know that Disney just ditched 4K BluRay? What a shame.

Editing … Gemini Man's first major action sequence with the parkour and motorcycle-fu was pretty slick, but the rest were mediocre, plus the story doesn't go anywhere interesting after the first act. And for a movie whose gimmick entirely revolves around de-aging special effects, they looked far from seamless even on the tablet I watched it on at 24 fps. An impressive effort for a relatively modest budget but I won't be revisiting Mr & Jr Smith anytime soon.

Editing … The CGI's not good, but that's not a problem for me. I loved the final action sequence! The choreography in that film was fuckin killer. I also went in expecting the younger double to be a Terminator on the chase, glad they didn't go for that angle. Everyone ended up being depicted as human, even the lead villain.
