I enjoyed the story so I looked up the author on my phone. Within like 30 minutes of reading that story, I had read the authors bio, checked out his bibliography, and then I was listening to a recording of an old obscure vinyl album where Vincent Price was reading a few of the authors short stories over my Bluetooth earbuds. If that sequence of events took place in 1990 or even the early 2000s it would've taken weeks of research and planning.
