Editing … Just reading the team news and playing Azpilicueta at left back is a massive gamble for Chelsea, Walcott could really hurt them with Ozil providing him.

Editing … He's got the most assists so far in the premier league according to my mate, I'll have to check on that though.

Editing … He also had a shitton of assists at Real, which actually hyped me for watching him play. Turned out his assists were some of the most unsubstantial, pre-constructed and meritless assists i've ever seen a popular player be recognized for. I haven't watched him at Arsenal, i'll admit that, but i'm betting it's the same case here...

Editing … He was actually awesome at the start of the season, just lately not so much. He's technically brilliant, I think he just has to fancy it, he isn't always motivated. He reminds me a little of Matt le Tissier, absolutely world class one game out of five and non exisitant in the other four.

Editing … If he's technically brilliant, then what does that make Iniesta? Xavi? I don't get you guys, what is so great about this guy? I admit that the ass-kissing praise might have ruined him a bit for me, but jesus christ.

Editing … It's the sheer amount of goals he creates, more than ANYONE in ANY league he plays in. Sure, they aren't always amazing 40 yard passes, but what he contibutes to the team overall makes him special. Nobody else can do it, it's as simple as that.

Editing … Then why is it that every single god damn time I watched him play at Real, he always sucked completely? Saying that he has just as much field vision and genius organizing as legends like Iniesta and Xavi is just plain wrong IMO. Ozil isn't even worth half of Iniesta's pinky toe...

Editing … Dude i'm aware that everyone loves him, and that pro's and statistics back him up all the time...but they never talk about game or individual performances, because they suck balls. I remember reading an article in the newspaper last year, saying Ozil was sadly underplaying that season. I was like THANK YOU! Someone who understands me xD

Editing … But he's created more chances than anybody else in Europe, you can't play badly and still be the best creative player there is.

Editing … But he's not xD Just go along with me on this: he has alot of assists, but when you see his games these assists are as bare-bone, minimalistic and pre-constructed as you can get. It's easy for him to organize a solid row of attackers, when he has brilliant wingers and defenders to pass him the ball and come up with something that even Ade Akinbaye could do. Yes, he sometimes cracks the opponent's defense with a decent long pass, but remember that it's "sometimes". Which leads me to my Ozil consensus: It's one of those players that, when he does one good thing, gets praise up the ass and called the best ever! *sigh*

Editing … A chance is a chance, it doesn't have to be a spectacular 70 yard pass after beating 5 men on a mazy run, something like a simple head back can create a goal. He makes more goals than anybody else, and goals win games. I can see we're never going to agree on this but that's what makes football discussions so much fun :)

Editing … But that's not what defines a great, masterful player. He just happens to have the most assists, because when you watch the games 20% of those assists were "pre-built" from brilliant field vision of defenders and mid-defenders like Pepe, Coentrão, Marcelo or Xavi Alonso, 77% when it's the forwards tricking the opponent's defense brilliantly and all Ozil has to do is, literally, kick the ball, and 3% from his own shitty merit. I don't care how much assists you have, if the genius doesn't come from you you're not a good player. Yeah I guess you're right xD
