I've had a Gamecube for like 6 years and only have Mario Kart Double Dash for it. I've played it maybe three times... I keep thinking maybe I should sell it but then I look online and I'm only gonna get like $30-40 bucks for it and honestly that's like one night out getting dinner and drinks. So then I hold onto it and stare at it sometimes but mostly it just sits in a shoebox. I also have a Dreamcast that I do the same thing with as well. But I have two games for that.. Quake III Arena and Outrigger. Oh and a bootleg homebrew version of Battletoads. But I kind of feel bad because I never play with them. It's that Toy Story complex. My main goal in life is to buy a cabin and go off grid and I imagine I'll still have my nice collection of old systems and will be able to finally play peacefully away from the internet and all the distractions and bells and whistles. Or maybe I'll get hit by a bus on my way to get some pie and it will all be somebody else's problem.

The GameCube was one of the first consoles I ever played and one of the ones I will always remember and enjoy playing every once and a while. Although I use my wii to play GameCube games the library of this system is unbeatable vs all of the other 3d nintendo consoles. Also a system that has a competitive scene for one of it's games still going to today has to be good. Nuff said

The GameCube features great first party titles (with the exception of Mario Sunshine) and the most comfortable controller ever invented! The system had an acceptable price and great graphical capabilities at that time. The games looked beautiful on GameCube (some even better than Wii games). There are also great accessories like the GBA-GC connection cable or the GameBoy Player which makes the GBA the ultimate companion for the GameCube! It's baffling that Nintendo failed to implement a proper DS-Wii connection.

Like most great things, the GameCube unfortunately - well, it did not "flop" like the Virtual Boy, but it "wasn't that successful", especially compared to Wii or DS. That is just too bad. I'm looking forward to the day where Nintendo announces a cheap yet powerful console with a normal non-gimmicky controller.
