Editing … Good going, Twitter.com, Gamespot.com and IGN.com. Those three sites have more female users than most other (gaming related-) sites on the internet.

Editing … And I'm not sure if you are joking with Twitter being gaming related. I think it's pretty obvious that there are more men on gaming related sites, when most of "hardcore" gamers, aka those people that read and talk about games online are men.

Editing … Supposedly Alexa has a deal with Google to share cookies. They also have a toolbar for those that want to know that they are giving out the information :P. But yeah, as far as I understand it's co-work with Google that allows them to have all the information they need.

Editing … Gamefaqs has had lots of one-day gender polls over the years with tens of thousands of votes each and male is over 90% every single time. It is also very obvious from having posted there for years that the vast majority of users are male. Unless women use the internet in general at an extremely lower rate than men even in 2015, alexa is quite simply just enormously wrong there and therefore none of their other data is likely credible either.

Editing … @Magus well, if they actually use the Google cookies that they have, I'm dumbfounded. It also seems to do a pretty good representation of, say, 4chan. Women do use the internet way less than men, but not that much less.

Editing … Maybe I wouldn't trust the gamefaqs poll completely (it's common knowledge that women just don't answer polls *trollface*) but it's probably more accurate. It sounds like alexa assumes that every single 12 year old brat who needs help beating Zelda would own his own computer which is hilarious.
