I've come to really fucking hate this show. The writing (where it departs from the source material) is garbage, and not just *because* Takeuchi didn't write it--but because it's so inconsistent it's laughable. Prime example is about half way through the show, Usagi thinks something like, "oh no, Tuxedo Mask can't find out I'm Sailor Moon!!"... forgetting that he came to her house like three episodes prior saying to her (without her having transformed), "Sailor Moon, go save everyone." (So clearly he already knew, bozo.) Also, they really watered down all of the girls' personalities and friendships, instead focusing too much on her relationship with Mamoru. Unlike the original anime series, it follows the manga act-for-act, and the manga's fast pacing doesn't really translate to anime very well for some reason. Finally, the art and animation is all over the place. It used to vary from episode to episode, but toward the end, it varies greatly within the *same* episodes. Some scenes will be beautifully done and then others have me cracking up at the derp faces and elastic appendages. This last one I try to ignore, because at least it's definitely going to look a lot better for the Blu-Ray release. It all just screams "lazy reboot we can use to try to sell people more Sailor Moon merch" and the series doesn't deserve this kind of treatment.

At the same time, I still tune in every time a new episode goes up. idk why. I guess because I just care so much about Sailor Moon in general and I keep hoping it will get better. The Black Moon Arc will be starting soon... hope it's less disappointing (even though I'm already pissed they whitewashed Sailor Pluto).

tl;dr I hate this goddamn show but I'm still watching it. Ugh.
