Bullshit. The Gamecube controller had two analog sticks, and yet Retro refused to properly map the controls to it, so you were actually forced to press the L2 button - or whatever it's called on this godforsaken travesty of a controller -, in order to look around. Stupid decisions like this one are the reason why I still haven't beaten the Metroid Prime games.

Editing … You know what I'm gonna do when I finally get around to devote enough time to beat my copy of #Metroid Prime: Hunters on the DS? Instead of playing it on Nintendo's handheld, I'll download the rom and then map the camera controls to the right analog stick of my Dualshock 4. Suck it. #SoEdgy #FirstWorldProblem #NotSanctioningTheirBuffoonery

Editing … Japanese hate fps controls, especially Nintendo. The GameCube controller is seemingly designed on purpose to shun fps but it backfired. I really don't like Metroid Prime in any case but I honestly wonder if it would have been a lot better with proper fps controls, since then you could oh I dunno look around, and the game is based around exploring and navigating the environment. The way Metroid Prime control scheme is set up is better suited for a linear action game, where you just walk through corridors and go bang bang at aliens.

Editing … two things, Gries: 1) youre wrong, the GameCube does not have two analog sticks. which is why GameCube is shit. 2) you might like Metroid Prime on the Wii better, since it uses wiimote fps controls. 3) using emulator and remapping the controls is cheating. okay that was three things

Editing … I actually love Metroid Prime's controls and how it handles aiming. Movement is very important to those games, as it encourages fast-paced shooting and quick reactions. Metroid Prime has no cover system, it relies solely on player movement to be able to dodge as quickly as you need to do. A twin analog system just would not provide the speed necessary to play games like these.
