As one can expect from all of Miyazaki's work, Howl's Moving Castle is breathtakingly beautiful. A great deal of the plot is unexplained and difficult to follow, and what was supposed to be a captivating romance just fell flat. Thankfully, the pure imagination of the movie's world and the characters make it an enjoyable enough experience, but to me, it was a lot of style and little substance.
