There are so many sub-series in the #Total War franchise, quite frankly it's somewhat overwhelming. I simply don't know where to start - any tips?

  Editing … Medieval 2 was excellent, Shogun 2 is quite good as well, but there are just too many DLC for that. I didn't like Empire or Napoleon much, so I haven't put nearly as much time in either of those. Perhaps I should give Empire another try.
