They changed her name to "Talisa Maegyr" in the TV show and gave her a different backstory (she's from Volantis in the show, the Westerlands in the books). Aren't we going with HBO's characters?

Editing … Maybe make a separate page for Talisa Maegyr? I can't see us ever having two separate lists for the book and show version of characters so I'm using this one for both and ranking characters the show didn't do justice (Qhorin, Mance, Oberyn, Blackfish) or cut out of the story as well as the characters that are great in the show.

Editing … Ok yeah I thought it would be easier to stick with the show canon, so if they've been mentioned so we know they won't get cut/merged into another character, they can be added. All 8 sand snakes haven been confirmed by Oberyn so I might have to add them! Ooo Duncan the Tall and Arthur Dayne got mentioned as well :D

Editing … There's not too many characters that got outright cut (Strong Belwas, Patchface, Garlan Tyrell, Wyman Manderly). The Bloody Mummers got merged into Locke and made a Bolton henchman, they gave Gendry Edric Storm's part, Asha got renamed Yara for some daft reason, a fair few backstory characters haven't been mentioned (my favourite being Bloodraven) and obviously there's this example. Since we're on about it I prefer Jeyne and the she comforted Robb when he was grieving story to the show romance myself. Then you've just got characters that were just pretty different in the show even if they perform basically the same role (Qhorin, Mance, Beric, Shae, Osha, Catelyn etc).

Editing … I think it's because they cut the Tyrell siblings and made Loras the heir to Highgarden, I always assumed they'd be far more brutal when it came to the Dorne/Iron Islands. I still don't think we'll see Damphair, guessing they'll merge him into Victarion somehow. Its true though, they havent outright cut all that much

Editing … I reckon we'll get Euron and Victarion but yeah, Damphair could just be replaced by a priest that isn't a Greyjoy and only needs to be around for one episode. Not sure who'd get cut from Dorne but I don't really mind, that area of the plot's never seemed that great to me (which was really disappointing considering it's where Oberyn's from).

Editing … That's true, he only needs to act disapprovingly towards Euron for a bit then bugger off. Quentyn is another that we'll probably lose entirely but we don't really need him either. They've done a great job so far, I shouldnt really be surprised we've got Doran and the Sand Snakes. Doran's so cool. "Deadly, dangerous, unpredictable. No man dare tread on him. I was the grass. Pleasant, complaisant, sweet-smelling, swaying with every breeze. Who fears to walk upon the grass? But it is the grass that hides the viper from his enemies and shelters him until he strikes."

Editing … That's far and away Doran's best line, he's a good character but I wouldn't say great. I don't think we will lose Quentyn, I think they'll want him to add something to the Dany/Meereen storyline in season 5 or 6, I can see them changing him a bit though (hopefully into more of a young Oberyn like I hoped he'd be before I read Dance). I reckon there's more chance we'll lose Darkstar, Areo Hotah and Aerys Oakheart and have Arianne but only with a smaller part. I can see them changing Aegon/Jon Connington and the characters Brienne meets as well.

Editing … *Possible book spoiler if anyone's reading this! At the pace they're going we'll probably have daznak's pit next season and all Winds of Winter material in season 6, infact they're going to need Winds stuff next season for certain plotlines, I doubt they'll need Quentyn to fill in time if they're going to finish in 7 seasons. Although yeah I wouldn't complain if they made him less frog and more viper! And the 7 season plan will likely become 8

Editing … It'll be interesting to see what happens when they catch up with the books. *Winds of Winter spoilers* They've already showed us where White Walkers come from and their leader's the Night's King which we still don't know from the books but that's just one scene *end spoilers*. I can't see them showing entire plotlines that haven't happened in the books yet. What I'm hoping is they take a year's break to let GRRM finish the book and give us a Robert's Rebellion prequel series.

"Justice." Prince Doran pressed the onyx dragon into her palm with his swollen, gouty fingers, and whispered, "Fire and blood."

Editing … That might be wishful thinking, I cant see HBO waiting for GRRM when they bought the rights to the entire series and not just the published books (Apparantly this doesnt include the Dunk and Egg novellas). The show has become so hugely successful it might be a risk putting the main story on hold. I'm personally quite excited to see two different takes on the series conclusion (maybe because I got into the series through HBO), it seems David and Dan have had discussions with GRRM about this, it will certainly be a shame to see it on TV first but it's starting to feel like an inevitability

Editing … If I were them I'd wait if only because most of the best lines in the show are straight from the books and they shouldn't risk a sudden drop in quality. Besides fleshing out the backstory a Robert's Rebellion prequel'd just be awesome, they could open with the Tourney at Harrenhal and end with Ned returning North with a baby Jon Snow. Mad King Aerys could be as great a villain as Joffrey, the tragedy of what happened to Ned and Daenerys's families would be great to see play out, there's the Rebellion itself, characters we'd get to see in their prime as well as introducing backstory characters (Rhaegar, Lyanna, Arthur Dayne, Howland Reed, Jon Arryn) and they could show scenes like the Tower of Joy that are huge parts of the backstory in the books and the show hasn't even mentioned yet.

Editing … In that case Pape I'd say have Talisa Maegyr and Jeyne Westerling as different characters because Spoiler besides both being Robb's wife that costs him an alliance they're totally different. One's a foreign field nurse Robb falls for who is pregnant when she dies at the Red Wedding and the other's the daughter of a Lannister bannerman that comforts Robb in his grief when he thinks Bran and Rickon have died and he marries the next morning because he didn't want to dishonour her. She's still alive because she wasn't at the Red Wedding and her mother schemed against the Starks and made sure she didn't get pregnant

Editing … Spoiler Then there's the theory Talisa started off as a Lannister spy! Im not convinced but House Maegyr's sigil is a tiger. "Only a cat of a different coat". Perhaps she was writing those letters to Tywin and ended up falling for Robb similar to the Jorah/Dany situation. A bit farfetched and ultimately doesn't matter. If the tansy tea hadn't worked on Jeyne and she had gotten pregnant somehow, would the Westerlings have sent her to the Twins with Robb to keep their alliance with the Lannisters intact? It could be that Jeyne/Talisa are more similar than it appears, but probably not, Jeyne clearly had no knowledge of the deal with Tywin, and Talisa seemed to genuinely love Robb. Cheers, that's better
