I just watched both Carries. #Carrie (1976) and #Carrie (2013), and this may sound stupid, but I just felt like I watched the same movie twice. I know it's a remake but it's about 80% the same down to the lines. I can see then why people may suggest that thee 1976 version is better, it was the first and it was actually something new. All in all though I think they are about the same, the 2013 has a couple scenes done better, and the prom part is bigger, which is awesome, and of course one of my favorite young actors as Carrie, but the special effects kinda ruined it. On the other hand the 1976 has a much more unique and iconic style, it's of course, the first, and it does also have scenes done better than it's remake. All in all, it's about the same, the 2013 version is more updated and easier to get into, but both are worth a check.
I still prefer the book though.
