The Purge is a horror movie that I welcomed a lot! Yes, it contains a lot of horror movie tropes, but I think the fact that the enemy isn't a ghost or a monster, and that this isn't just a slasher film either, made much more interesting to me. Here there's one day where crime is legal for 12 hours (with a few exceptions, that are mentioned in the movie, but that don't matter much in the situation the characters are in, it's basically just to stop killing important people or terrorism). The society seems to be much calmer, the economy rises and the crime rate is down to 1%. But in The Purge anything and everything goes, and it will go. Besides, I totally love the villain in this one.
