It's interesting how the SNES emulation is really bad while the Genesis emulation is really good.

Editing … Yeah, GBA emulation is also bad - the performance is just poor. Not sure why people used to recommend PSP as the emulation machine. A decade ago I tried N64 and even Nintendo DS emulation on PSP - the results were painful.

Editing … GBA actually ran fine to me, but I felt the emulators were bad for unrelated reasons. For instance there was one that prevented the volume meter and the battery meter that normally shows up when you press the home button while running a PSP game. That is to say, there was literally no way to see your remaining battery level or current volume setting without exiting the emulator completely and booting back to the PSP home screen. I'm sorry but that just instantly makes your app unusable. It's specifically for that reason I tried a second GBA emulator, but in the second one, I didn't like that each and every time you access the emulator menu for any reason, the only way back to the game was to manually scroll through the options to the one that says "resume game" and select it. (seriously wtf. Like even if you were going to do that, why wouldn't resume game be the default choice)

Editing … Meanwhile for GBC and NES and Genesis I tried only one emulator each and they were fine. (Although it's been a while since I bothered with the NES one, maybe it has issues I didn't find to be a problem before.) And the only thing wrong with the SNES one is the performance. I remember trying two different SNES emulators years ago, both sucked, I was told the situation had improved since then, and hell, maybe it has for all I know, but the performance is still noticeably bad.

Editing … SNES emulation has been perfect for decades now on the right emulators. They even fixed Xbox emulation and I can do PS3 emulation perfectly full speed on a cheapish PC. Not on a PSP though of course, but you wouldn't ride the tour de frog on your kid's bike would you.

Editing … Well ofc snes emulation runs fine on pc. I was doing that in the 2000s and it's how I played Mega Man X3 originally. Though I was playing using a keyboard, so it was retarded. Performance usn't the only thing that's important. PSP would have been the perfect way to play SNES games, the button/dpad layout is so well suited to it! Maybe if I overclock it.. that's a CFW setting I never bothered to try.
