I've been playing this. Traversal is fun, but the missions, side activities, combat, and dialogue are all pretty weak. It's just another generic open world, but this time made for the Spider-Man IP.

Editing … I would have liked a Spider-Man experience that featured systems involving juggling Peter's time, having to take pictures for the Bugle, fight crime, make rent, race to commitments. It's just the sad reality that we're never going to get that style of game design for a triple A title, particularly one designed to have a broad an appeal as Spider-Man. I was excited for that Blood of Dawnwalker game since there were early suggestions it would have a 30 day time limit, but it now seems like that is limited to story implications and not gameplay ones.

Editing … I haven't heard of this Blood of Dawnwalker game, or at least I don't remember it (I don't keep up with games :( ). Wassat? And I'm glad you liked the Spidey combat. I don't hate it, but I'm not very impressed by it. It is satisfying to clear a large skirmish without taking any hits though. After this is done, I was gonna play Final Fantasy V, but I think I need to play something with exceptional and distinct gameplay. Any recommendations?

Editing … It certainly sounds like you don't keep up with games if you still haven't played Dark Souls. DS1 still has some of the best level design in the series but in other ways is a bit dated. Bloodborne is a better place to start if you can handle the difficulty and don't mind playing at 30 fps with bad frame pacing. Personally the most fun thing I've played recently is Anger Foot, a pretty stripped down shooter with some novel twists. There's a demo on Steam that took me close to an hour to complete, so there's nothing to lose there.

Editing … Blood of Dawnwalker is a vampire themed RPG from some former CD Projekt Red devs that formed a new studio after Cyberpunk shipped. It looks interesting to me because it imposes a 30 day time limit to complete the main quest, but they've clarified time won't pass in real-time. You'll be notified that certain actions will advance time to the next day, sort of like Deathloop. This might still be interesting, but I'm just tired of the fact that the enormous scale of games these days means their design can't be more interesting than Majora's Mask from 25 years ago.

Editing … I don't have a PlayStation, so Bloodborne's not an option. I'd like to finally play the game that really started this--wait. Demon's Souls started this genre. Well, that's not an option either :p. I might've seen a Blood of Dawnwalker trailer, that sounds familiar. - on Spider-Man, I'm glad I've disabled QTEs. Way too many of those. I wanted to ask, did everyone hate this game's version of MJ?

Editing … Everyone hates the sections where you play as her. Then a certain corner of the internet got really upset when they made her "ugly" in the sequel. I don't recall any general dislike of her writing in the first game.

Editing … I don't like her sections and I find this version of her kind of annoying, but if others didn't like her sections, then hopefully the followups took notice. If I play the sequel, I'll let you know if I'm weirdly angry about her new looks. What do you think of the Miles Morales game, or the sequel? Are they big upgrades, or more of the same?

Editing … I have Dark Souls on the Switch and it was complete a waste of money. I got stuck within the first five minutes. I actually started the game over with the lockpicker perk to see if it let me get through any of the doors that were locked, but it had no effect whatsoever. Yeah, what brilliant design. *thumb up*

Editing … I don't recall any civilian stealth sequences in the Miles Morales spin-off, though MJ's playable sections make a return in Spider-Man 2. They aren't nearly as bad but I don't like that Insomniac couldn't take the hint that nobody liked them. Spider-Man 2 also has a lot of annoying scripted walk-and-talk dialog sequences that drag the experience down. "Come on Peter, let's ride bicycles around the neighborhood." yaaaaay....

Editing … Sometimes that's me with a gamepad. When Yakuza 0 first released on PC, its kb/m controls were broken, so I tried it with a gamepad. Absolutely loathed it, ragequit in probably less than thirty minutes. Later they fixed the mouse input, and I was able to play. For me, anything with freelook is best played with keyboard and mouse (and I'm an ace at Arkham!), unless the kb/m input was totally botched by the developers.

Editing … I was finishing up the Spidey DLC, but then I realized, I think I kinda grew to hate the game as it went on. I feel like I just kept playing in the hopes something would improve. I like Silver Sable, and she's a focus of this final DLC, but eh, not worth it. I like Black Cat too. Funnily, I think Spider-Man has better romantic chemistry with Black Cat, Yuri, and even Silver Sable than he does with this game's version of MJ. I like Miles Morales too, but I probably shouldn't play any more of these games.
