I downloaded the new mobile app, and it's been pretty addicting. I'm a sucker for card games anyway, but it's been fun collecting and battling. Especially as they have mostly started with the older Pokémon. I don't think I would be as invested if it wasn't for the nostalgia of collecting Pokémon from my youth.

Editing … What would you say is the best Pokemon game? I've been meaning to play one properly for about 20 years but never seem to get around to it.

Editing … I have barely played any Pokémon games tbh. Pokémon X/Y was the last time I dabbled. So for me, the best is still Pokémon Gold, haha.

Editing … My deck reminds of the gen 1 deck with Electabuzz and Hitmonchan. Same colors, low energy curve and efficient damage. I can often rack up 3 points against stronger opponents too quickly for them to recover. P.S. I run a lone hitmonlee. Every now and then it comes in handy and when it does it's always hilarious.

Editing … I have 314 in my pokedex. Which seems like a lot? Kudos to pokemon company for launching with so many different cards. Anyway, I have 2 copies of Dragonite and 2 Dragonair, but only one Dratini so I can't make the deck yet. The Dragonites are both promos btw. Wonder pick is amazing.

Editing … Yea, it's a pretty good stating lineup. I only have 26 cards left to get and then I will have at least one copy of every card. Although realistically that will take a long time due to rarity. I like that you can "buy" specific cards using the point exchange. I never spend real money on these sorts of games, so it's a good way to fill in the gaps in my Pokedex.

Editing … I wish it showed you how many copies you own at a glance. You can have 2 copies in a deck so there are many instances where I don't care that I own a card until I have at least 2. Anyway I didn't know you could buy specific cards.. I may need to look into that.

Editing … Dude. I just won against someone running Pikachu EX. You know, the bullshit power crept version of Pikachu that deals 90 damage for only two energy. Fuck that card! (On that note, I still don't own a single copy of it. And maybe I'd like it to remain that way.) But somehow I won. I didn't know my deck is that GOOD!! Opponent got to two points on me, so not running any EX Pokemon really pays off. Meanwhile I won by KOing two of his EX's. First a Zapdos, then the Pikachu. He used a Sabrina card me on twice, but it didn't help! In fact, I just realized my Sandslash was at full health the entire time. L-O-L

Editing … Nice one! I actually use the Pikachu EX card sometimes if I am feeling cheap, haha. It's probably the only card I think is unbalanced. Mewtwo EX is my arch nemesis though. That thing has way too much health for a Pokémon that can be played first turn.

Editing … I just won against Mewtwo EX. Opponent had a Mewtwo with 4 energy and 40 hp and was forced to retreat bc I was at one point. He switched in a fresh Mewtwo but it had no energy. A few turns later he scooped.

Editing … New set dropped! But this is remarkably uneventful. The client dropping was a big deal. It may be the best playing digital version of Pokemon ever made. But it doesn't need new cards. All pokemon cards are essentially the same anyway. The overall game plan is always the same: attach energy and slam the attack button. (It's almost a wonder how Pokemon became one of the "big three" if it wasn't for its simplicity. Or maybe there just hasn't been any better TCG. Which is odd considering how many of them have been released.)

Editing … I've started using the new Celebi EX. I managed to inflict 500 points of damage by utilising Serperior's ability (to double all energy). So it looks like they are slowly introducing strategy by providing more cards with passive abilities

But I actually have no idea what tool cards I own. Hopefully I have some decent ones. P.P.S. base set packs are no longer offered. Nuuuu!! Peak FOMO genocide. I never managed to get a 2nd Dratini. Me, with my 3 Dragonair and 6 Dragonite! Dx
