Saved!

Watched this for the first time since seeing it around the run up to awards season when it came out. I don't think my opinion has really changed: it's solid, not amazing, but has some great performances. Seeing Phillip Seymour-Hoffman's complete submersion into a form we're not used to seeing him as was incredible; like I wouldn't have realized it was him right away if I didn't already know it was him. As sports movies go it's pretty good.

Also, seeing the John W. Henry scene at the end and his monologue, now with the added perspective as a Liverpool FC supporter and what he's done there, was really interesting and colored my perception of that scene a lot.
