    Saved!
I'm watching this because Alex reminded me of it and I've never seen it before. First things first, it's clear that Citroen sponsored the film, all the cars are Citroens. My dad had the XM top of the line car back in the day and as luxurious as it was it wasn't a sporty car whatsoever, so that scene is bollocks. Second thing - a lot of potential was wasted here. It has everything needed to be a great film but it just doesn't do it, some of the scenes are borderline amateur, and this is a big 90s film with the big stars. The action scenes are quite good, the story is good-ish. The weakest thing in the film is the know it all Yank. Of course it's a Yank that is the best at everything, the man that knows everything and everybody, the yank goes from the hired gun to the main man. It's a bit too old school Hollywood, like a John Wayne film. Anybody not American is going to dislike parts of this movie. It's not awful, but it certainly isn't good either. I think a 5-6ish rating is fair.

Editing … Agree my impression is something seemingly boring my mind don't care to remember at all starting the rewatch. Kept my 6.5 rating unchanged as de Niro and Reno tried their best but needed the money.

Editing … I'm not that clued up on film making but I think the person who oversaw it all(the director?) wasn't up to scratch here. Or the budget was super low and they didn't have time to fix things? It's a case of a good idea done wrong. Quite enjoyable though, I didn't dislike it too much. It's an action movie so you have to give it some lee way.

Editing … According english wiki page $55m budget so enough money to me. During watching it gets you interested (again), but as mentioned above potential is clearly wasted. I am tempted to think that director /producer weren't the best choice here.

Editing … I have a new way of ranking films btw. I always think to myself would me and the boys watch this film round at my house with a load of beers and the answer to this film is yes! It passes the test, we would find it enjoyable enough to watch whilst calling out it's bullshit.

Editing … Films that are so awful that they end up being entertaining to watch are fair play, like The Meg, which we watched lately. Critically it fall's flat but it's cool.they got big sharks! I just think there's no definite link between quality and enjoyment, you could spend £10 and make a more interesting film than twilight,

Editing … These days, I just call this the best nothing film. It's infuriating. I mean, think about it. The film starts with presenting all the best actors at the beginning. Robert De Niro. Effing Jean Reno. Sean Bean. Even some under-rated B-list actors like Natascha McElhone and Jonathan Pryce. And then that whole story...kinda goes nowhere? I mean, all I remember are the car chases and the bazooka car. And that's fine, but aside from that I don't remember s**t. Lol.
