Editing … I like that. Nobody ever seems to run twice, and I always wondered why that is. I guess they took it as sign they were the wrong candidate to begin with. But Bernie was always a very strong candidate, better than Hilary, who was going to win if not for Trump coming out of left field.

Editing … he's old though! And now his age is x = old + 4. But that just makes it even better imo.

Editing … Hillary, Romney, McCain, Perry, Huckabee, and Santorum have all had multiple runs, don't think it's that uncommon. What I'm seeing as uncommon right now is the amount of Democrats running for president this cycle, what's this, eleven expected candidates right now? I can't remember the race ever being between more than a handful. Kamala Harris is who the establishment media's chosen as their frontrunner, but I'm only looking at Bernie and Gabbard. Warren's a decent pick, but she's betrayed her base. Just hoping she doesn't split much of the progressive vote.

Editing … oh, huh, no republicans (besides the president) have declared a presidential bid. I guess the GOP's settled on liking Trump for the moment. None of them would have any chance of beating him either, suppose they're being smart by not running.

Editing … I remember when Trump first ran, there were a crapton of republican candidates. Colbert would keep regularly show a graphic with all of their heads at once. It was funny every time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-yWgpxwBKk

Editing … I think there's a strong chance that the Democratic field will be larger than the Republican's two years ago. Lots of people have been waiting for their chance and there are new stars rising.

Editing … Yeah, but his reasoning made sense. I liked him enough, but on the bright side it might keep the progressive vote from getting split.

Editing … I have mixed feelings about Sanders because of the age thing. He's the best one in terms of policy, and I wouldn't at all mind voting for his re-election in 2020 but he'll be 82 in 2024. I'm not comfortable with someone being president into their mid-eighties; it just throws a lot more uncertainty into the mix. He could do a one-term pledge kind of thing, but let's face it: NOBODY likes voting for potential one-termers. They like voting for people who can hopefully be in for eight full years, and they also like voting for incumbents after four good ones. And if he promised to and stuck with one-term, he'd become a lame duck fairly quickly and the 2024 field would be nearly as bad as the 2020 one for Democrats, losing that incumbency campaign advantage. I still think his best chance was in 2016. Right now if it has to be anyone declared it has to be Warren. Otherwise I guess perhaps Harris, who I keep going back and forth on. Most of the others are uninteresting and deeply flawed.
