Editing … Most of the Vita RPGs are very very niche and I don't really fit into many of those niches, so it's hard to recommend stuff. I mean there's Persona 4 Golden but I'm that one weird-ass guy that prefers the original so I never recommend it to people. A lot of people like Demon Gaze though, if that's your thing. Also Freedom Wars.

Also it's only worth it if the Vita doesn't require connecting to a PC to get games on it. (Which is what sucks about PSP despite it being very easy to hack in all other respects) But I hear the Vita can actually download games directly from the net. It makes me feel as though I really should be capitalizing on that.

The game was never ported, remastered nor did it get a sequel which pretty much proves I'm right. It's just meant to cash in on the hunting craze that arbitrarily occurred on the Vita that one year. I'd rather play Toukiden because it just feels a lot tighter. Hell even Soul Sacrifice is better, and that's saying something because that game is bland as hell.

I was under the impression that in hunting games you're generally only meant to fight a given monster once before moving on to a more difficult one, barring instances where you revisit an already completed quests, or having the monster appear as a side enemy rather than the main objective.

Freedom Wars has a "press start to skip" option. (one thing the game actually does right) As does FF Explorers and Daemon X Machina if I recall. But I've discovered that some games hide the skip option in the menu. Which is kind of insane to me because some games don't even have it in the menu, so it's left to you to figure out which of those three categories the game belongs to. (no skip, start to skip, menu skip)

I generally prefer it when the weapons have weight and blows feel like they're connecting with something. As for the rose whip attack. I can climb the robot, at which point I bash my sword on it a bit and fall back down. Rinse and repeat. It's really pointless. God of War series executes it much better, the whole pulling on or climbing giant bosses concept. (granted it would, since it's a dedicated action game, but FW doesn't even try)

I've played through it on PC and Vita, and while there's a novelty to carrying a small-scaled but fully-fledged AC on a handheld, it's still a bit of a painful experience. A big step up in gameplay and fidelity from the PSP's underbaked AC Bloodlines (which still had its moments), as it has the features and crowds expected in an AC title, but it just runs so poorly.

I figured I should finally do that even though it meant having to start the entire game over. But I'm glad I did.)

Editing … I hear the Vita PSN store is being shut down this summer. This is awkward- I still have over a 100 in my PSN wallet. I guess I should be ok so long as they let us redownload our previous purchases. I just need to buy the games before then.

Editing … OLED Vita screen is too damn bright, even on the lowest setting. Dunno why I only just noticed that. I did buy a Blazblue game on Vita yesterday so maybe it's just the game and its bright colors. Wondering if I should get a slim model. That idea is really crazy (especially since I *hated* the slim model) but if I wore sunglasses to make the OLED less bright, that would be pretty crazy too. EDIT: Supposedly, with CFW installed you can turn the brightness down further than what's normally possible. (Oh my god. Why is this happening.)

Editing … Hacking a Vita requires you enter your PSN account. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BP27MPS-zDk That is CRAZY or am I wrong. The vid maker says you don't have to worry about getting banned, but I mean, Sony really can't trace the source of those server calls? Technology??

Editing … I tried PS4 remote play for the first time this month, and it's ass. Simply putting the Vita screen to sleep kicks you off the PS4 and you have to connect again. This single handedly kills it. (Oh and also the L/R buttons are mapped to L1/R1 by default and you can't change it, so if the game doesn't have control options you're screwed. Also input lag, choppiness, constant image artifacts, and the poor connection icon coming and going the entire time you're playing.) Still haven't done CFW. I see no reason to. It would presumably make OLED Vita usable but there's nothing on it to play. So I might force myself to do it. Maybe even sell it afterwards. Whatevs. I have too much shit anyway. Vita 3DS PS3 Wii 360 DS Lite PSP. What's wrong with me.

Editing … Yeah, I have a SD2vita adapter from ebay and a 128 gb microsd card that used to be in my Switch Lite. (I upgraded to 512) But what's the use of all that space if Vita has no gaems. (on that note it's kinda funny I upgraded my Switch to 512 now that I realized Switch is basically only useful for Pokemon games, lol.) But I also figure that if I was ever going to do this then I might as well do it properly. After all, a hacked Vita with only 16gb would be kind of sad almost. =P

Editing … I get this error when trying to deactivate: https://i.imgur.com/hdjXEBD.png I'm told the website method (which deactivates all your consoles at once) can only be used once a year, and I think that's kind of shit. So maybe I'll just hack my OLED Vita, and have that be my main Vita and not muck around with any secondary slim Vitas anymore, except I'll keep one to use as a PS4 fight pad which hopefully doesn't require it being activated. (key word HOPEFULLY. I really don't see why it would need to however.) The only caveat is.. seeing as I have a PS4 now, I'm more reluctant to put up my PSN account to do the hacking. But I don't really care about PS4 that much anyway. I'm even considering packing it up, there are just a few games I need to finish. (or more like start. I don't seem to actually finish games anymore.) I'd check out Ace Combat 7 just to see if it sucks, and force myself to beat Gravity Rush Remastered out of principle of the fact it's like, god tier game.

Turns out that I had to use the correct page on the laptop to log in my PS3 device or something...I don't know. Their whole two-factor authentication system is ridiculous. It's not well implemented, man.

Editing … oh and I forgot one other thing. I don't even know of a place where I can download Vita games. I am under the impression the Vita is able to download games directly from PSN without paying for them. If that is the case I would be really pissed off as it's basically us punishing Sony for leaving the Vita store up. EDIT: Also. Just realized. If I reactivate my hacked OLED in order to buy a game from PSN, such as Ratchet Collection or Skullgirls, I'd first have to deactivate one of my slim Vitas. So I might as well do the deactivation up front.

Editing … Maybe I just shouldn't bother? Why force myself to? And as I said, I don't even know where to download Vita games. That's sort of a prerequisite for hacking any system, right? Duh? For instance, someone on here, maybe it was husky, showed me where to get Wii games. So that was cool. It meant that if I hacked a Wii it would actually not be useless! Whereas if I hacked my Vita it would be only to lower the screen brightness. Which is still worth it, but, it's funny that I got this SD2Vita adapter and now it seems like I might not even need it. But so what, it was only like a dollar. I feel like I am spamming this post with comments whining and overthinking. But god damn it, Sony. Making things complicated with their shit. Making one model with a screen that's way too bright and another with a screen that's way too yellow, forcing me to own multiple units, and now, they won't even let me deactivate them. That's somewhat oppressive no? It makes me fed up with the Vita. Life is too short to deal with this, and I own too many systems as it is, and PSP and Switch Lite are both way better. In fact, maybe I won't even use Vita as a PS4 fight pad after all, as it's just adding more baggage forcing me to decide which slim Vita(s) to keep and which to sell, and which to activate and which to deactivate, like some juggling act. I'll just buy a used actual fight pad, either Hori or PowerA.

But I still haven't hooked up my PS3 and don't really have a timeframe for getting that done. As a result my Vita is stuck in limbo. I'm wondering I should just say fuck it and do the CFW already.
