I liked my 3DS games, but the only reason I own this is for Shantae, Etrian Odyssey 4 and Persona Q. And maybe SMT: Devil Survivor. Meh.

Editing … I actually liked the demo of Kid Icarus. Reminded me of Sin and Punishment 2, but without as many complicated motion controls. The stand setup takes a while, though.

Editing … They are supposed to work. That tends to happen with some of the modern systems. I honestly preferred the Game Boy Advance, because a lot of the backwards compatible tech was more thoroughly tested. The DS systems in general are too easy to break.

Editing … I bought mine a year ago because I had planned to for a long time and was going on trip abroad and thought it would be a good time for a new handheld. Since then I've bought Majora's Mask 3D, Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Fire Emblem Awakening and none of them have hooked me the way the best DS titles did. I also played Metroid: Samus Returns which I'd probably consider the weakest 2D Metroid since the original, and a sorry attempt to one up AM2R. I also gave Bravely Second a go but it's not for me. System feels like a waste of money in retrospect.

Editing … I actually wouldn't have thought about downloading AM2R until Samus Returns came out. Like geez, Nintendo could've hired those indie guys to recreate an official Metroid 2. I was cool with Sega's handling of Sonic Mania, but Samus Returns looked really lazy. Maybe Nintendo thinks that retro style is dead. Ballz. 3D. https://youtu.be/H9XZYwqOpLs

Editing … I got a 3DS again. It's a launch model 3DS this time, not a 2DS. Anyway, I am having no luck finding good games on it. I know that Ace Combat, Ridge Racer, and Donkey Kong Returns are good, from the time I owned a 2DS. But almost everything else seems to blow. Mario Kart 7 is okay. Was considering picking up Shantae.

Editing … ok so Devil Survivor is like 80 physical, but 19.99 on the eshop. Yeah, I already had a feeling I should be going digital. I've ordered a 32gb sd card this morning in fact. It's funny, I paid about 30 for this 3DS and it doesn't even charge unless you use the dock, but I definitely like it enough to tie it to an account and make digital purchases on it. The only things wrong with it really is that it's not a New 3DS (but it's not like I was seriously going to get one since the non-XL version of that was released in limited numbers as a Mario edition, and probably isn't worth it for the 2-3 games that benefit from it) and the fact that, because it needs a dock to charge, I can't ever decide to get a Circle Pad Pro to use with without having to take it off each time I need to charge. (which might work? Maybe I should get one and see. Maybe it's not that hard to take on/off. Heck, it might be worth getting anyway for curiosity's sake)

Editing … I can't remember very many games that required the New 3DS. Maybe it's worth getting for the SNES downloads, but even those ROMs might be slightly overpriced compared to the selection for Switch Online. The main reason to get New 3DS is to play Earthbound and maybe Fire Emblem Warriors.

Editing … Yeah I got it as is for parts. According to the seller it wasn't supposed to charge at all, and why he was selling it for 30, but he didn't test to see if it charges using the dock. It turns out it does (fist pump) and I ended up liking the system enough that it became my main 3DS. (double fist pump) The 3DS also happens to be in black! It's a good look!

Editing … The list of reasons to own a New 3DS is very short at least for me. I hear Captain Toad supports the rubber peg for camera control, making the game actually playable. New 3DS is also needed to play Xenoblade and Fire Emblem Warriors and one might as well add Hyrule Warriors to that list since the game is barely playable otherwise. But I've played all the Warriors game on PSP and the series is too flawed for me to want to bother with the 3DS spinoffs. And I don't really care about SNES games.

Editing … I plan to hack my New 3DS XL, if I succeed it will make me feel better about failing to hack my Vita. Also, because I want to hack my JP yellow/white 2DS in order to make it region free, and I figure it makes sense to practice with an english system first so I know what's going on. (although I could always try to go right into the 2DS anyway even though all the text will be in japanese? yeah bad idea... The Vita was in english and I still fucked up.)
