This is better than Iron-Man 2, but it still retains the flawed nature of the other Iron Man movies...with the whimpering antagonist, again. Although, I'd actually argue that the climax was still the best climax of the 3 movies (even though, all 3 of the climaxes are flawed, this was the least flawed one, thus feeling the least like a drop-off from the rest of the quality of the film). It does have a bit of an idiot plot with Tony Stark making one of the dumbest decisions he could possibly do in a film, but again, the charm of Robert Downey Jr. carrying this film, the fact that this movie isn't a retread and original from the 2 films, Don Cheadle getting more comfortable in his role as Rhodes. This is still a decent trilogy on its own, but I'm just glad Iron Man 3 closes it on a higher note than the last film. Again, like the last film, I probably enjoy the character building more than the stakes itself, but the stakes were better in this film than the last one, especially with Iron Man basically losing everything.
