I wish the true horror element had been present through the end of the film, because what there was, was extremely impressive. The ghosts were genuinely grisly and scary, thanks not only to the visual special effects but to the sound design as well. The disappointing thing is that it turned more action-thriller about two-thirds through the film. I really liked the plot, though, similarly, I wish the "big revelation" had been more sinister and shocking than... what it really was.
