Not bad. The humor is weak starting off, and I wish the other main cast had gotten chances to shine as much as Holtzmann (Patty especially fell short of her potential, imo), but it's an enjoyable movie with some good jokes, including some chuckle-worthy jabs at the nay-sayers. I liked the theme of how male nerds sometimes develop this sense of bitterness and entitlement because of how the world treats them, and think they're unique in their struggles, when they're really not (demonstrated in an interaction between the antagonist and Melissa McCarthy's character). Chris Hemsworth dancing in the credits was the Cutest. The post-credits scene sets them up for a sequel, and I would definitely go see it if it were made--especially if they used the opportunity to flesh out the characters a little more.

Editing … How does it hold up against the original?

Editing … It's not as good as the original, and it was never going to be. Annoyingly, it follows a lot of the same beats as the original, which do let the film down. If it had tried to be a little less copycat (especially at the end) then it would've been a lot better. That said, the new one is a LOT funnier imo, and much more relevant for a modern audience. This is much more millennial and excels in places where the original did not. Well worth a watch.

Editing … Thanks, Jacob. Never seen the original myself and probably won't bother to.
