Disco Elysium.... Fuck this game. I love it to death but it keeps crashing. The switch version is unplayable. Should have just gotten it on PC.

Has anyone here played it? Does it happen on PC too?

Editing … The controller is indeed not ideal but I got used to it. The first 10 hours or so were fine but after that the crashes were constant. It's like the game has memory problems. The shit that I see happen I've only seen in tears of the kingdom when I do very elaborate menu glitches. I'm still enjoying it though. The crashes just made me remember that age old fear.... It feels like old times when auto saves didn't exist and your parent could accidentally unplug your game and erase hours of hard work.

Editing … I'm playing Fallout NV right now so I know all about the panic of game breaking bugs and crashes. The first major issue I encountered was the infinite loading screen, which would only happen when I tried to go through a particular door. The game would stop responding all together so I would try to quit out with the task manager, but the NV window wouldn't allow me to click anywhere else on screen, requiring a full PC restart. After the fifth time of having to do this I figured out I could still click on the Task Manager menu so long as it was on a different monitor, so that was a time saver. But eventually the infinite loading screen glitch started happening every time I tried to load a save from the main menu. I thought my playthrough was borked until I figured out it won't glitch out if I'm loading a file while in-game, so I would just hit "New Game" from the main menu, skip the intro cutscene, and then load my most recent save. It was smooth sailing after that, until I stepped into the Gomorrah Casino where like most of the casinos, they confiscate your weapons until you leave, except with this particular casino, there's a glitch where they don't give them back! Reloading an older save would lose me hours of progress, so I search online for a solution. Turns out in-game your stuff is stored in three safes located behind a wall you can clip through in third-person mode, but you have to trespass into a restricted area of the casino turning everyone hostile. The Omerta gang were assholes anyway, so after I completed the quest where you get to kill their leaders, I go "Screw the rest of these pricks too!" and retrieve my medicine stick rifle I spent like 20,000 caps on and proceed to explode the heads of every hostile NPC in sight like rotten pumpkins. Overall I'm having a pretty good time but my playthrough is held together with bubblegum and duct tape, as is the Obsidian way.

Watching the 2024 Shōgun mini series now as part of my samurai movie spree.

It is based on the very true history where Shōgun Tokugawa Ieyasu adopted a foul-mouthed English sailor as a pet that he used to play games of political intrigue with in the time that the Spaniards and Portuguese were spreading Catholicism throughout Japan.

It has lots of Seppuku and chopped off heads. It's great.

I played a bit of Disco Elysium and holy balls this game is funny (but also somehow semi intellectual?).

I'm an alcoholic hobocop trying to buy spiritual self-help books I don't need with the money I don't have so I collect empty beer bottles for an income. A child asserted his dominance over me. My partner is a smart-ass and I like him but he hates me. And now I'm indoctrinating myself into advanced critical race theory so I can press a button to open a door.

I literally laughed out loud many times. The only thing that is bugging me is the unintuitive menu system and sometimes the controls, but seeing that the writing more than makes up for it, I'm not even mad.

The book lady is epic. She's my favorite. Her behavior reminds me of trying to shop as a kid at the toystore in our street. My friend and I were always berated by the owner of the store and we were kicked out if we didn't have any money with us.

    CROCHET FOR LIFE!

I have another hobby. I'm having fun learning new techniques and stitches. It's way too addictive and it also forces me to turn off my brain and relax.

Crochet is also AI proof because somehow it's too difficult to make a crochet machine. All industrial fabrics are woven or knitted with machines but crochet is so inefficient in movement, robots and machines say "f*** that " and walk away.

So once my crochet tinfoil hat is ready, the kill-bots won't be able to touch me.

Alright I finished Inscription. I liked it a lot but I still feel like the first part of the game is vastly superior although I also enjoyed the p03 part. I understand that the developer dude likes meta narratives but to me that was the least interesting part of the game.

I thought Leshy's cabin was much more mysterious and I would have loved to see it been developed even further. The whole story could have taken place in that cabin and I think it would have had more impact on me. The card game works best in this setting as well. The ambiance is just perfect and makes the sacrificing mechanic all the more creepy. Now I'm playing kayceey's mod and having a blast but I miss that talking cards. I wish I could get my card friends back in some way... I miss you stoat... come back! :,-(

I got inscryption and it is really good! Nobody I know likes board games so it's nice to play this game with a at least a simulated person. I don't even care if they are a shadow monster who wants do do bad things to me.

I also like the talking cards. I got attached to them. I think they are my friends.

Editing … I skipped the Hex. The meta-humor and easter eggs in Pony Island were delightful but the puzzles tried my patience. I wound up resorting to a guide a lot just to see the story through. Inscryption's gameplay is (mostly) a lot more what I wanted to see, and also does the cool stuff Pony Island does so well. But like I said, the game's first chunk is dramatically superior to the rest. Yet I'm incredibly invested in this shared universe now. I can't help but smile whenever Goobert comes on screen. I'm not sure there's another talent in gaming doing what Mullins does, so I'm excited to see what he does next.

Editing … Wait so it gets worse after this? I hope they won't make me stop playing cards with the shadow monster. He's a good dungeon master. Stout's face became weird though. I think it's my fault for dying so much but it can't be helped because I cant cheese it and quit and go back to my previous save. Oh I see the green slime thing I found is called Goobert? I wanted to let him out of his flask but the text on the table told me not to so I listened to the table.

Editing … Act 3 is better than Act 2, so yes, but Act 1 reigns supreme. Act 2 is also the shortest. The story also gets much more interesting and meta as you go which helped carry me along. But like I said, it would be a 10/10 game if the second and third act were of a similar standard to the first, and the game as a whole falls rather short of that.

Editing … Okay, I'll try to push through. I just don't understand why you would make your game switch over like that to a really crappy pokemon-like game when you have such an interesting and well executed 3D card game that I could easily keep playing for hundreds of hours if you just give me more bosses to fight. It's like the developers were not able to see the gap in quality. Going from S class to C teir. It's not horrible but it just feels like something I really liked was taken away from me. And my "Death Bringer" card I made! It's dead. D-:
