First episode was pretty boring, second was better and I was getting into it a bit but it's stuck at the end of episode two with no way to get past killing any chance of me playing the rest if it even got any better.

The replayability of this game is abysmal. The game is good the first time through because you don't know what is around the corner. I loved the story, and characters when I first played it and I was definitely on the GOTY bandwagon at the time. Because of my love for this game I went back because it was one of the Games with Gold. I dropped it after the second episode. The puzzles are non existent, most choices don't do anything, and because I knew the options my choices were planned out ahead.

This brought a inner debate. If a piece of media is unenjoyable for me the second time going through it can I justify a positive score? I couldn't convince my self that it was a trait of the genre because I would happily play Grim Fandango, and To the Moon again because of their characters and atmosphere. However this game focuses on fast decisions, and living with the consequences. This factor is lost once you know when they are coming, and what happens.

Editing … I think it's okay if a piece of media is not as enjoyable the second time around. I rarely find myself replaying games or re-reading manga for example. I cheerish more those that have a lot of replayability, but some things are made to be a single experience, not a continuous one.

The Walking Dead paints a multilayered picture of suffering and the survival of the fittest theory during an apocalypse. It's a fascinating exploration of the human psyche that shows that the worst thing that could happen isn't the apocalypse itself, but everything that happens after it. Not even the game's technical difficulties and simple gameplay can dull its edge that cuts deep.
Pros: Exceptional character development and relationships, superb and poignant story, plenty of ''HOLY SHIT!'' and gutwrenching moments, excellent writing and voice acting, difficult choices throughout, believable dialogue choices, great art style, haunting music, cool online aspect
Cons: Terrible engine that can screw up a scene/build-up, gameplay is extremely basic and often boils down to a game of ''Find Waldo'' while he's right in front of you, one plot twist near the end feels forced, in certain situations it tricks you into thinking there's actually a choice while there isn't any

Editing … Unfortunately Telltale is still using this outdated engine. Also, it sure would be great if we had a TWD characters list, what with all the character development you mentioned!

Editing … Apparently, they'll ditch this engine and will be making a new one for that Batman game they're working on.

The game that put Telltale on the map. The characters are written in such a way that losing any of them will haunt you long after you finish the game. The depressing stuff and the happy stuff is nicely spread out throughout the game, giving the player just enough hope to carry on all the way to the end.

I didn't played it myself but I've watched @Sha Ember playing it all along. It's not my video game genre, but damn, this was really good. I'm looking forward to play the Game of Thrones one, this will be my first Telltale! :)

This game doesn't have the best graphics, or the best music, or the best action, but it's the one game that's had a far greater emotional impact on me than any other. It's the one game where the story and the gameplay felt the most integral, where one would've been very little without the other. This is a game where you act as a surrogate father to Clementine, who is by far the best child character in video game history, this is a game where tragedy and despair are shown equally along without hope and optimism, where you're forced to feel the full impact of every choice you make. The characters are all flawed, but deeply relatable, and they end up making many of the events that unfold all the more heart-wrenching, and the ending easily eclipses all previous attempts at emotional endings in this medium. The Walking Dead is worth going through, from beginning to end, more than any other game I've ever played, and I can't praise highly enough.
