The replayability of this game is abysmal. The game is good the first time through because you don't know what is around the corner. I loved the story, and characters when I first played it and I was definitely on the GOTY bandwagon at the time. Because of my love for this game I went back because it was one of the Games with Gold. I dropped it after the second episode. The puzzles are non existent, most choices don't do anything, and because I knew the options my choices were planned out ahead.

This brought a inner debate. If a piece of media is unenjoyable for me the second time going through it can I justify a positive score? I couldn't convince my self that it was a trait of the genre because I would happily play Grim Fandango, and To the Moon again because of their characters and atmosphere. However this game focuses on fast decisions, and living with the consequences. This factor is lost once you know when they are coming, and what happens.

Editing … I think it's okay if a piece of media is not as enjoyable the second time around. I rarely find myself replaying games or re-reading manga for example. I cheerish more those that have a lot of replayability, but some things are made to be a single experience, not a continuous one.
