Editing … Legendary ME1 is such an improvement. The other two hold up incredibly well for decade+ old games.

Editing … I'm using mods to remove the hacking and mining minigames, because those got repetitive (:

Editing … Yeah, that's the way to go. I remember people calling the mining minigame an improvement when ME2 came out. Playing on PC was legitimately painful, having to hold down the right mouse while dragging all over the planet.

Getting ME2 run in wished settings (dlcs & mods) on Steam is annoying and time consuming every time.

Wow, you can really tell the difference in budget on this over #1. Everything just feels stepped up a notch from the previous installment. The whole beginning setup to the plot had me rolling my eyes but it seems to be paying off with some interesting story archs branching off.

Editing … Yeah, I find the plot in the sequels a lot rockier than the first game. Everything else peaks in ME2.

Editing … I chose soldier for ME1 because I hated the powers and wanted more options for guns. But powers in ME2 are awesome. I almost always go with a Sentinel, cuz tech armor ftw, but they nerfed that ability in ME3.

The "Empire Strikes Back" of the series. Breathtaking characters, dialogue, and adventure. I love this series.

What a wonderful experience! I'm blown away by the maturity and depth of this game. The gameplay is a bit limited but not bad at all. I'm so glad I gave this franchise a chance. Mass Effect 3 is next :)

The trilogy packs a helluva journey. The ending might be a strange decision by the developer, but isn't it always about the journey? The 2nd game always sticks out to me as the most memorable and well-rounded of the 3 games (The Empire Strikes Back of ME, if you will); introducing and re-visiting great characters to round out our cast of heroes, widening the scope of the Reaper threat, and amping up the urgency to begin doing something about it.

Although I did miss the Mako exploration of the 1st game, I did find the planet scanning introduced in this game to be strangely addictive, mindlessly entertaining, and a nice break from the action and story elements. This is definitely a classic, and one of the most satisfying games I've ever had the pleasure of playing.

Every generation of game consoles has its defining titles. When one thinks back on a system and its legacy, an association with those games is often made. For instance the ENS and TINES eras gave us Super Mario Bros. and Zelma, while the original PlayStation served up Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy VII. Naturally, this generation isn't without its own defining set of games, too, and one of those titles is undoubtedly Mass Effect 2, a project from the minds at Canadian developer Bio Ware.

If you only pay attention to the PlayStation 3 scene, you might be confused as to when the original Mass Effect came out and why you never heard about it or played it. Unfortunately, 2007's Mass Effect never made it to the PSI. The series' first entry came only to Xbox and PC, and due to Microsoft having published the game, PSI owners will never see it on their native console. Mass Effect 2, however, is another story entirely.

Editing … Mass Effect 1 did eventually get released on the PS3 (with the ME Trilogy). Better late than never, but that 1st game was a primary reason that I went with the 360 last gen.
