A huge open world arcade game with second best graphics of 2010 and fun gameplay.

Sometimes a game doesn't need to be flawless to be fun. Just Cause 2 is the poster boy for this statement. I've spent hours and hours and hours destroying every piece of military equipment/propaganda that I can find. It has a forgettable story with forgettable characters and a forgettable soundtrack and a forgettable visual style, but even through all that, this game is still one of my favorites of all time. The island nation is HUUUUGE and the sheer amount of vehicles to man and items to find is unfathomable. But the best part is the grappling hook and parachute mechanic, which made exploration really fun. I find myself coming back to this game again and again and it's because of how it focuses on the most important part of games: fun.

For a new generation game, this gave me a lot of fun time

What an incredible game with the biggest map ever!

Yes the storyline is horribly bad. Yes the characters are pathetically shallow. Yes the game is extremely unrealistic (infinite parachute). But by god it's just damn fun - exploring a huge island, flying around at crazy speeds and blowing up everything in your path is entertaining for quite some time. With tons of content and lots of methods of destruction, Just Cause 2 keeps the player entertained for quite some time.

The game provides you with a lush open world of deserts, snowy mountains, and dense jungles to cause chaos in by blowing shit up. The story and voice acting are quite laughable but that's not what the game is all about. It focuses very much on the free roam aspects and the grappling hook-parachute combo makes for some nice transportation. (Something I find painstaking in games like GTA) Most of the vehicles (with the exception of the helicopters) don't control as well as I'd like them too. Ultimately the game is fun but it can get a bit repetitive which drops it down a few points on the scale.
