I actually hated the hype around this album when it first came out. 'Course, back then I thought that nu metal was replacing all the punk rock and grunge that I loved. Then the eletro-pop movement started in the next decade and I got f***in' pissed. I thought, well maybe I'll take a listen and figure out if it's any good. Turned out that it was Limp's best album. Well, f***...I passed up this gem just because the cover had some creepy trolls chillin' in a pile of hot dogs. No words, man.

Editing … I've been hearing "My Generation" more often. I have no idea whether it's because American politics is shite, but it's great. I always felt that song didn't get enough mileage. My senior class always played it at rallies. We all literally turned into brats because of Limp Bizkit. Lol.

Sure, Limp Bizkit was at the height of the rude, prude and purposefully obnoxious nu metal scene. They wouldn't have it any other way. It's a bit of a shame that the critics didn't "get it," because this was hard-hitting gold as far as I'm concerned. A lot of this album's singles, such as "My Generation" and "My Way" were empowering trash ballads for the teenagers at the time. It also didn't hurt that the House of Pain DJ Lethal threw in clever samples from Eric B. and Rakim. Even the kids who hated nu metal were at least banging their heads to "Rollin'."
