Nathan Drake is back and once again Naughty Dog has upped the ante in terms of setpieces, variety of environments, and combat. Fleshing out the melee in particular is where Uncharted 3 makes a big improvement over 2. The pacing is more deliberate than the rollercoaster ride Among Thieves was and tries to have a more serious story (although it still isn't anything deep). Technically it is the best Uncharted yet, although it never quite reaches the brilliance of the second game's train level (but hardly any games do). Still, if you can keep expectations reasonable and can put up with some of the formulaic story beats of the pulp adventure genre this is probably the best game in the series.
