So in order to download and play the first #American McGee's Alice on Xbox Live you have to own a copy of Alice 2 (#Alice: Madness Returns); there's no need to input any code at all, right? I'm asking 'cause I plan to import a used version of Alice 2 from the UK and was wondering if I still get to play Alice 1 for free or not.

Editing … You do need a code, actually. But why bother with a used copy? Can't you just get it new for like 10 bucks? Also, I'd play the original Alice on PC if that's an option for you. It's not as buggy and you get to play it with a mouse and keyboard.

Editing … For some reason Alice 2 still costs 50 Euro on Amazon; and I do in fact own a physical copy of Alice 1 on PC but failed miserably getting used to its k/m controls. What's confusing though is the fact that you can download Alice 1 from www.xbox.com right now for free, so maybe you don't need a code for it after all?!

Editing … Well, EA did abolish season passes some time ago now, so it's possible they made all their season pass content free at some point. You'd still need the Madness Return disc to actually launch it, though, unless they patched that out as well. Also, they didn't actually change the controls for the console ports, so they feel identical to playing the PC version using JoyToKey. The first hour or two could be a bit rough since you'll need to manually aim your dagger/cards, but after you unlock the croquette mallet with its lock-on ability, combat will be trivialized.
