My first GTA, and my favourite (inevitable bias here though). San Andreas had a fantastic story littered with interesting characters with top notch acting. Everyone is quirky, different and funny in some way. The range of vehicles were fun to drive. The range of locations spread across 3 cities and different environments made the area feel huge at the time, and the varied nature of it all made the game consistently fresh. The music and radio stations were fucking fantastic too.
I think the one thing that will let this down for newcomers now is the low graphical standard. The graphics are dated. That's probably my only criticism for it now. Everything else is still top notch.
Bloody great game.
