So Bum Rush Cyberflunk. An open world spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio with a storyline that tries to be edgy as hell. By that, I mean that a ghost decapitates the main character with a vinyl record. And...
    I'm sorry, I can't take this seriously. Lol. 😅😎

Editing … Yeah I recently picked it up and it was hilarious. I think it's impressive for an indie studio but so far from what I've played the gameplay just isn't on par with JSRF. It's too slow and not smooth enough. I'll play a little more to see if it changes as I get used to the controls but so far I don't see a reason why you would not just replay jsr or jsrf instead of this. I appreciate the attempt though. It does feel like they tried and care for the original.

Editing … Yeah, I do appreciate that lo-fi indie effort. They tried to imagine a dark open world adventure with Jet Set Radio grinding and graffiti. Except that already sounds weird as a concept. It's like the Tony Hawk version of...Skyrim? My mind kinda explodes just from thinking about it. Lol.

Editing … I need those vinyl records though. Dude, is that what the Wu-Tang Clan meant when they said that they'd be chopping off f***ing heads? Those are some deep cuts.

Editing … Wasn't the original JSR sound guy involved? That's kind of cool.

Editing … Yeah, the soundtrack is so effing dope. There's a lot more lo-fi beats that really heighten the mood. And the bangers just bang. I also have no clue where the sound guy found all these cool indie artists, but they delivered.

Editing … Oh wait. Was Team Reptile listening to that one Basement Jaxx hit? Because that would explain how they came up with this goofy story. Lol. https://youtu.be/5rAOyh7YmEc?si=x4O4h-s-kwIuKWKy

Editing … I am forever grateful JSRF introduced me to Cibo Matto. Her music is just so weird and absurd. If I'm in a strange mood I listen to one of her albums and I instantly get the "JSRF feeling" even though none of those tracks are in the game. I believe it's only "birthday cake" that's in Future but the music is all the same vibe. Katamari also is related in musical weirdness. Maybe the worlds of jet set radio and katamari are connected. They are both cell shaded in the same style aswell. Maybe the JSR world grew out of one of the stars you create in katamari.

Hey ev'ryone, Jet Set Radio 3 finally came out.

...I mean, it's called Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, but come on. The Jet Set Radio composer worked on this project. Yeah, the devs are from the Netherlands, but at this point, it's effin' Jet Set Radio 3. All the style and game mechanics look like they're still intact.

Editing … I played JSR on Vita recently and it's trash. This new game looks much better though. Adding a combat system seems like a good idea. And the platforming doesn't look as floaty this time. P.S. I can't believe this game actually came out. By now I was convinced it was vaporware. But then, boom, out of nowhere: Launch trailers. I was like... "launch tra- wait, so.. it's out...? Like... right now? ... WHAT?!?"

Editing … Wait, JSR also doesn't seem like the best game for a small handheld...but I do have highly selective memory. Whenever I pick up a JSR, I only think of the awesome music and the cool aesthetic of everything. And then I remember the awful controls and pain. But yeah. I guess JSR3 is out. Lol.

Editing … I think thats all people choose to remember about JSR. If it was just some Tony Hawk game w realistic graphics and generic music, it would probably be seen as the turd of the Dreamcast.
