Well, the game could have expanded more into the storyline about cyber-security and the user-friendly Hacknet OS. However, this indie developer sure knows how to get people into the vibe of hacking and causing problems. The tough part about the final section is that I had all these connection points and I kept forgetting which one was necessary to get to the final ending.

There's also some sort of secret path, but I'd have to take a second playthrough. I'm happy, though.

Nine hours in. Well, there IS a game over screen. I didn't know how to switch IP addresses, so the game simply closed. At least it didn't overwrite my old save, I guess.

Well, after a bunch of mishaps with a jerk who deleted my OS, I managed to trace back to his computer IP and deleted the files he stole from Macrosoft. I suppose I could have wiped his system as well, but that might affect the ending...Hmm...

Browsing my Hacknet network computers...Dude, the high school kids sure love searching for boobs...? Must be a boys' school.

I've played a few hacking simulator/visual novel games, but Hacknet is the only game that comes close to the true, authentic hacker experience™. Although some of the commands can be sped up using a point-and-click GUI, I pretty much just used the keyboard for everything. The open-ended nature of the game also leaves players to their own devices, to explore the Internet underworld. The ambient electronic dance music and the black, dark interface is perfect for that nighttime cyberpunk atmosphere. Hacknet is just so...cool. I don't know how else to explain this--it's so frosty, man.
