Gennady Gennadyevich Golovkin (Kazakh: Геннадий Геннадьевич Головкин; born April 8, 1982) is a Kazakh professional boxer. He is the current WBA (Super), IBF and IBO middleweight champion, and is ranked the number four pound for pound boxer by The Ring magazine. He was also named the 2013 Fighter of the Year by readers of The Ring. Golovkin holds the highest knockout percentage – 90.9% – in middleweight championship history and is said to have one of the hardest chins in modern boxing, having never been knocked down or knocked out in over 375 fights, either as a professional, amateur or in sparring. As a professional he is undefeated and holds notable victories over former world champions Kassim Ouma and Daniel Geale, and as an amateur he won a silver medal in the middleweight division at the 2004 Olympics.
