EA's reportedly cancelled EA Vancouver's open world Star Wars game, which replaced Visceral's cancelled game. Allegedly.

Jared: Oh...EA. Sigh. So I didn't get to see EA's press conference because I was traveling at the time. No one spoiled anything for me. *Groan* Why didn't anyone warn me?

...Y'know, EA sure set the bar low this year. With all that said, they still beat Konami at E3 2010. I know that's not saying much, but hey, C- is better than F-. Lol.

Editing … More importantly, how could they make Battlefield 5 sound so...boring? They're only adding Battle Royale because PUBG and other multiplayer games have it. How will it work? Why should we care when everyone else would rather play Battlefield 2 and 3? It's like they're finally admitting that their franchises are now part of a dullard corporate machine.

Editing … Much more interesting than that is seeing NBC talking about folks like Jim Sterling and Angry Joe. It feels like we're at the point where old people don't find video games weird, and that's a bit moving.

My favorite part of E3 was the passionate spokespeople of Electronic Arts.
"We really, really care about our... video games? Yes, we're very passionate about this game you see onscreen, Quest for Speed. Need? Yes, that's what I said."
"When will we come out with Dead Space 4? Well, we'll have to make the first three titles before that, don't you think? Haha. ... wait, what?"
"We're glad that everyone enjoyed our new video game, Assassin's Creed Origins. Hmm, Youbesoft? Yes, we're glad you enjoyed that one too, thank you!"
"Our newest entry in the Star Wars franchise will be hitting theaters this November, and all additional maps and gameplay features will be made f... wha?"

So will they actually have games to show this year or are we expecting them to show up with a half-finished power-point presentation?

Editing … It's EA: When do they ever have games worth caring about? I won't be watching, because I literally couldn't care less. Sony's the only one I really have an interest in, tbh, though Bethesda may be okay as well.

Editing … My guess it that they're gonna name-drop Battlefield (again) and maybe Dead Space? The Sims? Either way, I guess Star Wars Battlefront 2 is going to appear. I mean, they did do a trailer reveal.

Editing … Sounds like it was pretty much worthless, as expected. The only thing remotely interesting to me was a new Bioware game..... Which they showed a brief tease for and literally said "Watch the Microsoft Conference for the gameplay reveal". So, it was basically nothing but a waste of time.

Editing … I've never been less hyped for E3. I can't bring myself to watch any of the third party press conferences, and why would I? If I look at all the games I really enjoyed in the last three years, which ones were made by those publishers? Let's see, Bethesda put out DooM and Wolfenstein: The New Order aaaaaand, that's it. The rest were made by publishers like 2K, Namco Bandai, Atlus, Konami (lol), CD Projekt or indie devs. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

"Diversity is at the core of what we believe at EA. If you follow us at all you'll know how important diversity is to us. Not just gender but sexuality, colour, race, you name it.

The equation online, that everyone understands, tends to be: audience + anonymity equals douchebag.

As publishers, developers, administrators we need to ensure that people don't knock women, people of colour. Our goal is to make games for everyone. It's a very simple edict.

We're somewhere around 25-28% female customers. So an environment were you can administrate against harassment is key."
