I'm not sure where or how I got my first taste of miso soup, but it's basically the best soup ever. Admittedly I'm not exactly a purist, not enjoying the seaweed usually found in it, but I will always ask for it at Japanese restaurants over the generic chicken broth. If only I could find out how to make miso soup at home taste as good as the stuff in restaurants...
