If you expect a typical zombie film you will be disappointed.

I Walked with a Zombie is rather a tragic and morbid story with elements of jealousy, racism and an overwhelming fear of mortality. It is very much a subdued story that use ominous darkness and deafening silence to make the viewer feel hopeless right up until the tragic conclusion. I Walked with a Zombie is not your typical horror film but it is nontheless a solid nail-biter that explores several dark themes of humanity.
