#Way Down East
Yet another Griffith movie starring #Lillian Gish, Way Down East is a romantic (melo)drama. The movie is as long as you'd imagine a Griffith feature to be, over two hours. It has a lot going on, but most of it seems rather pointless. It has a very strong central love story, but it gets muddled with all this subplots and things. The ending is very climatic and very well filmed, although a bit of a letdown because it again gets really sweet. This movie undoubtedly influenced many other films, but I don't consider it a must see.
